1. When you are online shopping, you should only shop at reputable stores. If the store does not have a good reputation, you may be asking for trouble. Some individuals have had their credit card and personal information stolen from shopping on lower than reputable websites. Be careful and protect your private information.
2. Be wary of overdoing it. It is much easier to overspend if you are shopping online. You start to rationalize that you can spend more for those shoes because you saved money on gas and the food you would have gotten should you went to the mall, as an example. Give yourself a limit and follow it.
4. Be wary for any emails you get, even if they appear to be coming from a retailer you trust. Never click on a web link that directs you to a site other than the main one you shopped on. If you do, you may become vulnerable to a gimmick. Rather than simply clicking an email hyperlink, just go up to your browser and enter in the web site you would like to go to. It is much safer that way.
5. Many online shopping sites offer discounts if you use a "coupon code". These codes are easily found online by entering the words "coupon code" along with the manufacturer or name of the website you will be buying from. They may offer a percentage off or free shipping by simply entering inside a simple code which can be easily found by investing a few minutes searching for it.
